As you know, cold weather testing is one of the most important phases in which automakers test their vehicles in harsh climatic conditions. In this process, spy photographers managed to capture the camouflaged test vehicle of the Jaguar Type 00. The new spy images reveal some important details about the Type 00 design. Here are the features of the new model:
- Fastback-style body.
- It differs from traditional BEV (battery electric vehicle) designs with a long front hood and a short rear section.
- There is no rear window. Instead, it is likely to use a digital rearview mirror, as in the Polestar 4.
- The rear door design is different. It features a small glass area and widens over the rear wheel arch.
- The interior is not yet clearly visualized, but a more traditional cockpit design is expected from the concept model.
770 km range, 600 horsepower!
Jaguar has confirmed that the Type 00 is based on the new Jaguar Electric Architecture platform. Technical details are still limited, but here are some important data:
- 770 km WLTP range
- High-speed charging support: 321 km range in just 15 minutes
- About 600 horsepower expected
In short, Jaguar wants to gain a firm foothold in the premium electric GT segment with this model. It has the potential to compete with rivals such as the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S. The serial production version of the Jaguar Type 00 will be unveiled in 2025 and is expected to go on sale in 2026.
